| Friday 19th September 2008 I caught the High Wycombe to Chesham bus that left HW garage at 14.45. The driver was with a superviser. The driver was a pleasant enough person but the driving was some of the very worst I've experienced.
He was sounding the horn at other vehicles which was quite unnecessary as there was a lot of traffic on the road. He was braking a lot due to driving erratically and too fast. The worst offecne was driving with only one hand on the steering wheel. This driver definitely needs mush more practice bwefore taking the public on the roads. At one point he was reading something and at the same time operating something near the ticket machine. St this point the accompanying person did speak to him, I assume it was a reprimand but as they spoke some form of Erdu I couldn't say what was said.
All in all my experience wasn't a pleasant one, and also at a point on the journey near Holmer Green a passenger told the driver and superviser that the driving was too fast. This passenger appeared very pleased to be getting off the bus, as I was on reaching my destination.
I repeat, the driver was a pleasant person but just not up to the job

| This example was delivered to Reading as a dual door variant. As can be seen the door has been removed and a panel fitted in its place. Some door conversions are well done this was sadly not one of them. Ensign bus converted many dual door buses to single door format in the 1980s and lots were exported. |

| Its always nice to see a Routemaster, especially one that has the earlier type of front end treatment. The radiator was to be given a different grille as we have become used to seeing. A real sight to enjoy,no matter what the weather! |

| These would appear to be for Anglian Bus And Coach of Beccles; who have had Scanias on order for a while and this looks like their livery! |

I think you may already know, as i think you are on the STagecoach in Hull yahoo group. But i recently noticed that this photo (17715 with the distinctive water splash) is featured on Kane Slater's website, and copyrighted as his own, when i and yourself clearly know it is not the case. http://kanes-bus-photos.fotopic.net/p56144755.html is the link.

| The first of many Scania buses to make its home in Reading.
At one time Optare was seen very much as the preferred vehicle manufacturer after the end of Leyland. Scania have managed to build a substantial presence in only a few years. The few remaining Optare buses will probably be phased out. I must admit to liking the Optare Solo,its a baby bus as it were but has big bus quality. I think the Scania vehicles do represent a much needed step to make public transport enjoyable and the colour coded routes is a good idea! |

| I think this is a good picture that shows how The Leyland National was liveried in the late 70s. London Country had 543 Leyland Nationals and a good number were the 10.3 Metre version. This was an example from 1978 as the registration plate indicates. |
